Ashlock Consulting has partnered with the Oklahoma State Department of Education to provide a minimum of 15 hours of coursework on the Science of Reading for Grades 4-8 educators throughout the state. The training is comprehensive and free and is meant to empower teachers to transform their students’ literacy journey. The coursework is offered in a blended format that includes online asynchronous modules as well as synchronous Zoom meetings throughout one semester. The coursework for the Oklahoma State Department of Education contains select workshops from Ashlock Consulting’s Reading Academies. The OSDE requirement is a minimum of 15 hours, primarily done asynchronously with online workshops. The online content is available in three rounds delivered over the course of a semester, and each round corresponds with a live synchronous Zoom session that follows conducted by Ashlock Consulting to make connections to classroom implementation and answer questions.

Individuals will also receive a copy of Ashlock Consulting's Reading Strategy and Skill Resource with Knowledge Connections, an essential classroom tool for teaching reading.

All content must be completed, and all Zoom sessions attended, to complete the training.

Upon successful completion of the training, participants will be awarded a certificate and gain access to additional learning workshops and resources to further their professional development. These additional workshops include:

• Science of Reading Research Anthology

This training is free for qualified teachers in grades 4-8 in the state of Oklahoma.
